Sun protection is often seen as something temporary. Something you reach for when the sun comes out, when summer begins or when you head off on holiday. But the skin doesn’t live in seasons. It is under pressure every single day. With Likami SHIELD, we wanted to rethink that starting point. Not by treating SPF as a standalone product, but by asking a broader question: how do we protect the skin every day, in a way it truly tolerates?

The reality of daily skin stress

Most skin stress doesn’t occur during extreme moments, but in everyday life. UVA radiation is present all year round, even on cloudy days and indoors. Blue light from screens, air pollution, temperature fluctuations and dry air continuously affect the skin. Over time, this daily exposure translates into moisture loss, sensitivity, a disrupted skin barrier and premature ageing.

Yet many sun protection products are not designed with this in mind. They are developed for temporary exposure and often feel rich, occlusive or heavy. This makes them less suitable as a consistent daily step within a skincare routine.

Why SHIELD is not a classic SPF

Within Likami, we don’t see skin protection as a separate shield you apply from time to time, but as a supportive system that helps the skin function within its daily environment.

That’s why SHIELD was developed as a Daily Defence Fluid: a light, refined formula you can use every morning, without burdening or occluding the skin. Not as an extra layer on top of your routine, but as a logical part of it.

Each SHIELD formula combines 100% mineral UV filters with the Ectoin Shield Complex®. This combination makes the difference. While mineral filters provide reliable protection against UVA, UVB and blue light, ectoin supports the skin on a deeper level. It helps strengthen the skin barrier, limits moisture loss and reduces the impact of daily stress factors.

The result is not a form of protection that merely shields, but a formula that actively helps the skin cope better with everything it encounters on a daily basis.

An important starting point for SHIELD is that skin needs are not fixed. The skin changes along with the seasons, lifestyle, hormonal fluctuations and external influences. What feels comfortable today may feel too heavy tomorrow — or may no longer offer sufficient support.

Each variant starts from the same protective core with broad-spectrum SPF50, but combines this protection with targeted skin improvement, tailored to specific skin needs.

Daily Defence Fluid SPF50 – Hydrate + Barrier

For dry, dehydrated and barrier-compromised skin

This variant is developed for skin that quickly feels tight, loses moisture or becomes imbalanced.
The focus lies on intense hydration and restoring the lipid layer, so the skin becomes comfortable and resilient again.

Polyglutamic acid — an ingredient that can bind up to four times more moisture than hyaluronic acid — provides long-lasting hydration. This is complemented by a phytolipid complex of biomimetic jojoba lipids, raspberry seed oil, avocado oil and karanja extract, which support the skin’s natural lipid structure.

Geranium oil, bisabolol and glycerin calm the skin and strengthen moisture retention, making this variant also suitable for sensitive, dry skin.

Result: smoother skin, a strengthened skin barrier and long-lasting comfort — even in air conditioning, cold or heated environments.

Daily Defence Fluid SPF50 – Calm + Soothe

For sensitive, reactive skin prone to redness and irritation

Calm + Soothe is developed for skin that reacts quickly to stress, temperature changes and hormonal fluctuations.
The formula focuses on calming, restoring and skin comfort, without weighing the skin down.

Centella asiatica (cica) helps reduce redness at the source, supports collagen and ceramide synthesis and has anti-inflammatory properties. Combined with bisabolol and botanical extracts such as calendula and chamomile, this variant helps bring the skin back to a calm state and strengthen its resilience.

The texture is light and comfortable, making it particularly suitable for daily use on skin that feels easily overstimulated.

Result: a calmer skin appearance, reduced redness and skin that is better able to withstand daily triggers.

Daily Defence Fluid SPF50 – Correct + Brighten

For skin with pigmentation, sun damage or an uneven skin tone

Correct + Brighten is designed for skin prone to pigment spots, sun damage or a dull, uneven complexion.
This variant combines protection with the prevention and correction of pigmentation.

A stable vitamin C derivative helps inhibit melanin synthesis and supports skin brightness. Niacinamide reduces the transfer of hyperpigmentation and refines pores, while tranexamic acid targets inflammation-driven pigmentation — also effective for melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Licorice root extract acts as a natural tyrosinase inhibitor and supports a more even skin tone.

Result: increased clarity, enhanced luminosity and a more even complexion over time, without irritating the skin.

In this way, SHIELD offers tailored daily protection — with the same protective base, but a clear translation of what the skin needs today.
