Discover the basic mistakes in applying sunscreen that can reduce your protection.
- Applying too little - A small dab of sunscreen isn't enough. Think big! You need about a shot glass full of sunscreen for full body coverage. Slather it on generously!
- Missing spots - Don't forget to protect your ears, neck, lips, and the tops of your feet. These areas need attention too!
- Not reapplying - Applying SPF once is like eating just one potato chip – it's simply not enough. Reapply every two hours, or more often if you're in the water or sweating.
- Ignoring expiry dates - Using old sunscreen is like drinking spoiled milk – just don't do it. Check the expiration dates and make sure your SPF is up to date!

Learn about subtle SPF mistakes that you might overlook and how to prevent them.
- Relying on makeup SPF - Thinking the SPF in your foundation is enough? Think again! Your makeup may look great, but it does not offer sufficient protection. Always use a dedicated sunscreen under your makeup.
- Skipping SPF on cloudy days - Don't be deceived by overcast weather! Up to 80% of UV rays can still reach your skin, rain or shine. So, apply sunscreen even when it's cloudy.
- Not choosing broad-spectrum - Don't be confused by the terms UVA and UVB. Broad-spectrum SPF is your best friend—it protects against both types of rays.
- Applying just before going outside - Don't wait until you're in the sun to apply your SPF. Apply it 15-30 minutes before you head outdoors to let your skin fully benefit from the protection.
