What does a serum exfoliant do to your skin?
A serum exfoliant contains ingredients with skin-friendly acids that penetrate deep into the pores and exfoliate your skin from within. This gently yet effectively removes dead skin cells and clears the pores without damaging the skin barrier.
What is the best exfoliant?
The best exfoliants depend on your skin type and needs. AHA's (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) such as glycolic acid are effective for improving skin texture and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. BHA's (Beta Hydroxy Acids) such as salicylic acid are suitable for oily and acne-prone skin as they can penetrate deep into the pores and reduce congestion.
What is the difference between AHA and BHA?
The main difference between AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) is their solubility. AHA's are water-soluble and primarily work on the skin's surface, making them effective for exfoliating dead skin cells and improving skin texture. BHA's are oil-soluble and can penetrate deeper into the pores, making them suitable for reducing congestion and treating acne and blackheads.
What is glycolic acid and what does it do for the skin?
Glycolic acid is a type of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) derived from sugarcane. It has small molecules that can penetrate the skin effectively. Glycolic acid helps to exfoliate the skin by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells, promoting cellular turnover, and revealing a smoother, brighter complexion. It also helps to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.
Should I use the facial serum Skin Renewal in the morning or evening?
It is recommended to use the Serum Skin Renewal in the evening as part of your nighttime skincare routine. This allows the serum to work overnight to exfoliate and renew the skin. During the day, it is important to follow up with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays and prevent any potential sensitivity or increased sun sensitivity caused by exfoliation.
